About a month ago, Dax graduated from BYU and Dallin had his baby blessing all in the same weekend. Dax's entire immediate family came out for it, and my parents made the trip as well. The weather was ideal, the company was good, and we had such a memorable weekend. We got a new fancy shmancy camera for graduation, and it has been so much fun. I feel way more legit taking pictures now, even if I don't know what I'm doing...
A few months ago I got a nice cake decorating set that I'd been wanting to use, so I decided to make Dax and Holly a little graduation cake. It was a little ambitious with timing of everyone in town, but I think it turned out really well, not to mention it was delicious! Try not to look too closely, but I free handed the Y, homemade frosting and fondant, and I quickly free handed the rest of the lettering.
Dallin's blessing was a really tender experience. I think we counted around 50 family and friends that came to support us on Dallin's special day! Dax gave him the blessing with both of our dads, his brother, Brock, his grandpa, and three uncles. As exhausted as Dallin was that weekend, he was an angel for it :)
That's a 4 generation picture :)
As far as updates from the Jarnagin's go, we are moving next week back to Dallas! Dax has a job working for Deloitte in the fall, so right now we're just getting everything packed up and ready to go. We're a little unsure about how Dallin will do in the car for two days, but I guess we'll just have to roll with the punches. I have 2 1/2 days left of work. It's definitely bittersweet for me. I'll miss teaching for sure, but I am going to LOVE being able to stay home with Dallin. I've felt like I couldn't give 100% to either work or my home responsibilities, so it will be nice to put my all toward my family. Being a mom rocks!

I can't wait to see Dallin--and you! Sister J.
ReplyDeleteLoved the update and the pictures. The cake looked fantastic. I'm sure all that practice with Laurel making Barbie cakes over the year has helped! I am just sick that we are totally going to miss each other this summer. We love you and are so proud of you two! We'll just have to meet Dallin when he's going on 3 and he's already a big brother! Take care...
