This Is Why I'm a Bad Blogger

Much the same as with journaling, I am terrible at writing what is going on in my life. Most of my issue is my laziness in moving pictures from my camera to my computer (scapegoat, right?). My laptop has been cord-bound for quite some time now, but thanks to my wonderful husband buying me a new computer battery for Christmas, all of this will change. Hey, people can change!

Anyway..... Here is our update from the last few months.

We moved into our new apartment in September in Dallas and really love it and our new ward. Dallin has a lot of little friends around his age in the ward, so their favorite thing to do at church is "get sad" about something, and then play out in the hall with each other. It's pretty adorable.

I would like to give a shout-out to my favorite family around, the Tuckers. Pretty much they are totally awesome. They headed off to London this summer to be world travelers or something, and they offered us some furniture to borrow while they're away. We love it :)

Dax started his new job in October. It's weird to be done with our "make-believe" grown up phase where we were still in college and we could still pull off not growing up. Now he has a real job, we have a baby, will have a real apartment (not a 60 year old ghetto Provo apartment with the word "John" written in pink tiles in the bathroom), and I get to stay home with my little one. We are really excited about this next stage of life an all it has to offer!

For Halloween I made Dallin a dinosaur costume, and if I do say so myself, I think it turned out well. He loved playing with the tail :)

Our little boy doesn't seem so little anymore! This kid is growing like a weed, getting sillier and sillier by the day. He's 10 1/2 months right now and trying to figure out this whole walking business. He is really good about walking along furniture, but he's a little nervous still about not holding on to anything. He's a speedy crawler, a great eater, and apparently likes to blog because he's been trying to help me out with this post...

I've always been amazed at how curious he is. He's very meticulous like his dad, loves to read like his mom, and really loud (we'll say he gets that from his dad too). Several times a day I catch him in his room looking through books on his shelf, turning each of the pages, and flipping each of the little flaps in his board books. The kid loves dogs and can play with a 120 lb. dog, but cries the moment he sees a 15 lb. cat. All I can say is, we trained him well. His favorite time of day is when he gets to go "splish splash" in the bath. He would stay in there all day if I would let him.

He is constantly "talking", making motorboat noises or yelling in excitement. He's says the words "dada", "ball", and "mom" (when he's sad usually), but every now and then in his babbling we pick up some real words and pretend like he knows what he's saying. For example, he says "I gotta go" a lot or "I gotta go buy", "cake", "woah", and a few others.

He must have been a good boy this year because Santa and his aunts/uncles/grandparents spoiled him rotten!  One of his favorite toys he got was this giant stuffed dog from Ikea. He must have instinctively figured this out, but if we ask him where the doggie is, he crawls over to it and does some hardcore snuggling with the dog. It is just about the cutest thing because he has never been much of a snuggler. We had a really nice Christmas and feel really lucky to live so close to both families that we get to see them so much.

This is a traditional Sundell Christmas morning stair shot :)

We were lucky enough to have a beautiful white Christmas this year! I didn't think Dallin would see snow until he was five, but he seemed to enjoy the wet, cold stuff.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Maybe even settling down there so you will have to tell me all about it!! I can't believe Dallin is 10 1/2 months already! And the dinosaur costume is really good!
